She was very beautiful and achieved a successful career as a real estate agent, growing to be worth between 1 and 2 million dollars.

These petite women didn’t let their small nature deter them from committing murder and mayhem across the country. Erin Caffey – The clock on the wall of the Caffey house showed 3.55am – the time that the flames had engulfed the Texan cabin which had been home to Terry Caffey, 41, his 37-year-old wife, Penny, and their three children – 16-year-old Erin, Matthew, 13, and Tyler, who was 8. But it wasn’t the fire which had claimed the lives of Terry’s family… It was Erin Caffey
A True Crime anthology looking back at some of the more obscure serial killers in history. Gary Charles Evans was a confessed serial killer who operated out of New York and Florida, befriending the Son of Sam. He would target antique stores and became infamous for his numerous escapes from custody. John Reginald Christie was one of the busiest serial killers. He murdered at least six women including his wife—and some believe this number is higher, as well as a baby—before being arrested, convicted, and hanged.
The case of Maura Murray’s disappearance is one that has left police and conspiracy theorists baffled for more than a decade. Her sudden disappearance is one that makes very little sense and the available information regarding who she is as a person and her motive behind her attempt to leave town prior to vanishing isn’t easy to wrap our brains around.
Lt. Gen. Harold G. “Hal” Moore, the American hero known for saving most of his men in the first major battle in Vietnam. Moore became a military legend for his actions at the 1965 Battle of Ia Drang, where he was a lieutenant colonel in command of the 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment. Spree killers are a special kind of murderers who are completely different from serial killers. They commit two or more murders in a short period of time. This means that they do not experience the cooling-off period which is typical for a serial killer. As a matter of fact, their killing spree is often quick and pretty violent. Driven by an uncontrollable rage, spree killers would often turn on their families, co-workers, or any group of people that wrong them in any way. What triggers these crimes? The debate is still ongoing but it is usually connected with a major event in a killer’s life such as a breakup or an argument with someone who is more superior to them.
Pat Tillman left his career with the Arizona Cardinals and enlisted in the United States Army in June 2002 in response to the September 11th attacks. His service in Iraq and Afghanistan, and subsequent death, were the subject of much controversy.
Three of the most deranged serial killers in recent history are profiled here. Gary Evans was a psychotic antiques dealer who killed anyone who crossed him and was able to escape from custody numerous times. Joseph Duncan killed men, women and children in a rampage that lasted over eight years before he was finally caught. Robert Black was a serial killing pedophile who terrorized the Scottish countryside for five years. He was able to evade capture for years after being subject of the largest manhunt in the history of the United Kingdom.
In October of 2015, a decrepit old man named Robert Howard died of natural causes in his cell. In jail he’d led a solitary existence and spoke rarely; indeed he could have been any criminal counting down his time to release except for the fact he never stood a chance of ever getting out of prison. He was serving a life sentence for murder and simultaneously under investigation for the disappearances of other young girls that he would have had access to during a horrifically brutal life of sexual crime. Robert Howard led a gruesome life of crime, rape, brutality and murder.
On January 23, 1990, a college student driving around in the outskirts of Portland, Oregon, noticed a body lying in an embankment off the highway. The young woman was half-naked, and investigators discovered that she had been strangled, the rope still looped tightly around her neck. She had been sexually assaulted and viciously beaten, her face taking the brunt of the damage. The Medical Examiner was unable to correctly identify whether she was Indian, Caucasian, or of Eskimo descent. A search of the crime scene revealed Walkman earphones near the body, but her ID was nowhere to be found. The fly section of her jeans had been deliberately cut out, and there was a single hair with no root on her stomach.
Lily had heard about the Amish murder for the last couple of months from everyone around town. It was the talk of everyone. They all wanted to know who would want to kill someone within the Amish community and why. She was a new reporter, and this was only her second story. It had been hard to get her foot in the door at the busy news office and she was one of the only two women working there. It seemed that most of the men looked down on her as a newbie in the business. They were skeptical that she really belonged there. She had looked for good stories to follow, hoping to get one that would set her name in the business.
They looked like the All-American couple. Michael Severance was a decorated Air Force officer while Wendi Mae Davidson was a veterinarian with a growing practice. All seemed well with the couple until Wendi reported her husband missing. She stated that he had been acting “erratically” while going out to clubs and staying out late. Her husband’s body would be found in a nearby pond, weighed down by cinderblocks and stabbed multiple times…A sloppy murder carried out by the most unlikely of killers.
Two estranged sisters who show up at their missing mother’s estate to settle her estate and collect the proceeds. But as they sift through her belongings, they find a board game that holds a connection to their mother’s disappearance …and deadly consequences for anyone who plays it.
The hours at the mill had been long and arduous. Accidents were common and those affected were given no compensation for their injuries. Many of the girls developed “cotton cough,” which made it impossible for them to continue their work at the pace set by the ever watchful management. They were forced out of the factory and onto the streets.
A collection of True Crime stories detailing the crimes of women against their husbands…Thomas Stack’s death didn’t surprise a lot of people when it happened. He was an alcoholic, and everyone suspected that he accidentally poisoned himself. But once the small town of Farmington heard that Cynthia Galens was actually behind the murder and that she used a large amount of antifreeze to get rid of her husband, everyone was in pure shock. Cynthia was a lovely lady without prior charges, but she did complain a couple of times that Thomas Stack was hurting her in the privacy of her own home.
Those were the words of Danielle Stewart as she was confronted by police who arrested her for the murder of her 55 year old husband, Chaim Kimel. In one of Australia’s most controversial cases, Stewart would claim to have no recollection of the night when she stabbed her husband two times in his abdomen during one of their many alcohol fueled fights.
The United States is known for long desolate highways and interstates. Designed to make traveling easier and faster, thousands of vehicles go down these roads on a daily basis. During the 1960s and 1970s, seeing hitchhikers was nothing unusual. But not every one of them got to their desired destination. The number of missing hitchhikers made people change their minds about this type of travel. It became very risky in the second half of the 1970s, and parents started warning their children about the dangers that loom on the interstates. After all, it is impossible to know the person who picks you up or their intentions.
The case of Pamela Smart is infamous and retold in popular media through episodes on crime-based drama. The murder of Gregory Smart, Pamela’s husband, is one that tells a story not often seen in the trends of women who commit murder.
Hollywood is a place where everything is possible. It is a land of dreams and people flock to this city on the west coast in order to find a better life and create a brighter future for them. Unfortunately, Hollywood has its dark and seedy side as well. Starting with the murder of the Black Dahlia, the tabloids couldn’t get enough of intriguing stories coming straight from this part of Los Angeles.
Arthur Gary Bishop—also known as Roger Downs and Lynn Jones—was a child molester/serial killer who sexually abused and murdered five young boys near Salt Lake City, Utah, between 1979 and 1983; at the height of serial killing in the United States. His preferred method of murder was either drowning or beating his helpless victims with a hammer. He was ultimately executed on 9 June 1988 by lethal injection after voluntary waiving any appeal claims.
Serial killers are a fascinating subject to the public. On one hand, we as a collective society are frightened by their horrific murders and indignant at how their heinous lives lasted for so long. On the other, we are fascinated by their complex lives and remarkable ingenuity—if anything, reading about them puts us temporarily in the mind of the killer themselves, simultaneously disgusted and a voyeur nonetheless. Maybe we just want to avoid situations for practical sakes where a trusting face may appear and help us recognize the signs of someone capable of these egregious crimes; other times, there’s a voyeuristic pleasure that fuels our innate instincts.
